Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I look at custom cabinets over stock cabinets?

A. Stock cabinets have limited door, drawer, wood, and finish choices, and are built on three inch increments, which do not take advantage of maximizing total usable space. Custom cabinets allow a much wider selection and greater flexibility for the customer.

Q. How do I pick a company that will work for me, my architect and builder?

A. Each job has different objectives, and each customer different needs. As a customer, you must find the designer that you have the utmost confidence in going into the project. The lowest quote is not usually the best. Do your homework. Get at least three quotes and compare them, making sure each is quoting comparable services and materials.

Q. What are lead times and what does that mean to me?

A. Lead time is the manufacturing time taken after signed approval of drawings and contracts. Lead times at Chestnut Bay Cabinet Design are eight to ten weeks.

Q. How much should I pay for my kitchen cabinets?

A. The National Kitchen & Bath Association suggests that an approximate average can be calculated by taking 5-7% of the total cost of your home and property. That figure includes installation, but not appliances.

Q. How will I receive my cabinet order?

A. All cabinet orders are wrapped in cloth moving blankets and are delivered by our own employees, via our own trucks.

Q. Where can I buy your cabinets?

A. Chestnut Bay Cabinet Design sells their cabinets direct to home owners, architects, and builders.

Q. Where can I see the quality of your cabinets?

A. Chestnut Bay Cabinet Design has its own showroom and manufacturing facility located in East Falmouth, MA. We also have an informational CD available upon request, and many happy customers who are more than willing to show off their new kitchens!

Q. What is the warranty on your cabinets?

A. We have such faith in our quality and craftmanship, we warranty our cabinets for 10 years. At Chestnut Bay Cabinet Design, we make furniture, not cabinets.
